KEY

I am a Key
To open your box..
To keep it safe.. to open its lock..
I am a Key
Shinning in your hands
struggling to breathe
As you clench me..

I am a Key
Tickling your ears
As I hit my chains
Ringing in your thoughts
As I sway by your way always

I am Your Key
Unique to your make
I know what you hide in that chest
a Diary, a Coin , a Sketch.

How old is that coffer
I wonder..
How long was it locked
I wonder..
As I fit.. Every cut that accepts my form
your amazement remains undiminished..
Your awe... Makes me wonder..
How special am I

Don't lose me
Don't forget how precious I am
An unknowing threat
Cue to your confessional

Don't keep me in your dusty drawers
to be forgotten..
I can rust, I can break..
I might even lose my shape

I would no longer be a key then
Just a lump of metal ready to be moulded again
For another lock.....
For another box.....
As for yours
Its closed forever
without me
Till you beg the maker
to make you another..
